Talio, a specialist in slope stabilisation, environmental restoration and associated civil works, has included Witeklab’s Rockchip monitoring system in two of its most recent slope stabilisation projects as part of the road maintenance services provided by the company in the Spanish provinces of Tarragona and Girona.
Talio and Witeklab’s technical teams have collaborated to integrate the Rockchip system into the protection elements installed in both projects, with the aim of monitoring their condition and detecting possible changes that could compromise their integrity, in order to be able to make an early intervention if necessary. The Gavà-based company has already implemented Witeklab’s solution in 2023 in a pilot test to digitise the slope stabilisation and protection systems in Barcelona’s Guinardó Park, and in 2024 it has begun to implement it in new projects..
Rockchip is an autonomous telemetry device capable of detecting changes in slope protection systems and providing automated data about the condition of the monitored elements, their integrity and the stresses to which they are subjected. The particularity of this technology lies in the use of autonomous sensors and a mixed connectivity system, a combination that allows the recording of various parameters in the protection elements, transmitting them to the cloud and offering the data in real time for consultation via a web app.
Rockchip deployment works on a slope protection system installed by Tratamiento, Acondicionamiento de Laderas y Obras, S.A. (TALIO), next to a road in the province of Tarragona.
By incorporating Rockchip in their projects, Talio is committed to the digitisation of its slope stabilisation and protection systems in order to facilitate the predictive maintenance of the elements and to ensure more effective protection of infrastructures, as well as greater safety for people.
