Witeklab has recently signed a contract with the Interuniversity Research Institute of Molecular Recognition and Technological Development (IDM) and the Department of Architectural Constructions of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Under this agreement, the RPC Group and the UPV will carry out, at the request of Witeklab, the Research and Development project “Design of a new corrosion rate measurement sensor integrated in reinforced concrete structures for its wireless power and communication”.

The purpose of this project is to jointly develop a novel product in the construction market, based on a patent license, which improves performance and reliability of the techniques currently available, for the early detection of corrosion in reinforced concrete building structures. During the six-month contract period, a multidisciplinary group of UPV researchers and Witeklab engineers will develop the project based on shared knowledge and experiences.

This project encompasses the Witeklab R&D line focused on structures, which is aimed at the development of new battery-free sensors with wireless reading devices for complex applications, which allow detecting environmental and structural parameters through sensors with very low maintenance or null. Our effort in these applications is aimed at providing reliability, resistance and easy implementation, along with obtaining and presenting relevant information.
